Elementary Admissions

David Lipscomb Elementary School helps children develop academic skills to achieve success in the college preparatory environment. The school's emphasis on Christian values permeates every aspect of the child's development, offering special programs in the arts, foreign language, technology, and physical education. Students who qualify are accepted without regard to race, creed, color, or religion contingent upon class availability.

DLES understands that choosing a school is a significant and important decision for each family. We are eager to provide prospective families with information and experiences needed to make that decision with confidence. We encourage families who are interested in our school to make an on-site visit to obtain more information as they evaluate the opportunities Lipscomb has to offer their child. Each fall, the elementary school hosts several open house occasions that are open to the public, or parents may call Lisa Stinson at 966-6320 to arrange a school visit convenient to their personal schedules.

How to Apply:
1. Complete and return the application along with the $100 deposit. If for any reason, the student is not offered a position at Lipscomb, that deposit will be refunded. When students are offered a position, their deposit is applied toward their tuition fees.

2. If the family has not already made a school visit, they should call the elementary school admission office at 966-6320 to schedule a tour.

3. Submit copies of report cards and achievement test scores when appropriate. Parents will be given reference forms to be completed by the child's current teacher.

4. Students applying for pre-kindergarten or kindergarten will be invited to a screening visit. Applicants for pre-first through fourth grade will participate in admission testing. The first testing date for the upcoming school year will take place in late January. Applying in time to participate in the January testing enhances a student's likelihood of admission.

5. Admission notification letters will be mailed as soon as possible after testing results are evaluated. Because of the significance of our mission, it is the desire of DLES that every child that qualifies for admission be granted a position; when that is not possible because of the abundance of qualified applicants, we will use a waiting pool for students not initially awarded positions. We encourage families to remain in a waiting pool as additional positions often become available at a later date.

FINANCIAL AID
Financial aid is available for students who have been accepted in the elementary program and whose families qualify for financial assistance. An administrative committee chaired by the Director of Schools makes financial aid recommendations. We use the School and Student Service for Financial Aid in Princeton, New Jersey. Parents complete a required Parent's Financial Statement that is processed along with a copy of their IRS 1040. For more complete details, contact Jennifer Green, in our Admission Office, 966-6320, or Cheryl Pittard, administrative assistant to our Director of Campus School at 966-1828.
